Hello everybody !

It sure has been a helluva long time since I post anything new, but there's a reason : I found a job, and I moved out of Paris and back to Nimes !

So far i'm working in an Indie Game studio, called Galhmac Games Studio. We're working like beast on our game called Exodus, a old-school 2D platformer, metroidvania style !

So I wasn't able to work for myself alot, but still hanging in ! Here is 2 pieces I'm working on right now : first is a female bust, which I'll probably sculpt to the utmost tiniest details, because...why not !

The second is called the big beast, or Whilelmina. The basemesh was provided by my awesome friend Chokmah (dude's a beast himself) and i did the concepting and sculpting ! I hope you'll enjoy it !

Hello !

It's in the midst of this hot summer night and with Nekrogoblikon's latest album pumping through my ears that I finally let myself showing what I'm currently working on.

This time, 2 char, a fight scene, with some fx and such, but as always it's low poly and usable in game. I think this'll be the final pose. All the texture need to be done apart from the normal, but everything else should be final so far. I may go back in maya to smooth some of the skin due to my poor skinning~

Hi there ! I've been away for 2 weeks so haven't had the time to work on anything, but now I'm back and kicking.

As for Manah, i'm happy to say that the full rig, facial + body, is finally complete (just some adjustment on the skin to do) and that the texture is almost done too.

I took a little break from texturing and customized my shader so it'll look like she has energy streams on her suit.

Well, I've been somewhat busy with her the last couple of days, finished the retopo mid poly version, almost finished the uving, things go pretty smoothly.

Some screens, as well as a test as to see if my normal would bake correctly, and despite the really poor uv at that time, i think it's rather satisfying. Gotta do something for the seams of the symmetry, though :)

it's been a reallly long time but things have been crazy here and i started working on another project, a demonic woman :) she's almost at the rigging phase so i'll show her here.

I've been toying with facial animation again too, and working on one right now. The sound clip is taken from resident Evil 5, a scene between Jill, Chris and Sheva...soo here it is !

As it's keyframe animation, it's a really good training for all the facial features, emotions and such !

Hello everyone, Scythe's here.

So it's been craaaaazy lately, with a whole lot of stuff happening. Most striking one : i'm now living in Paris, found myself a good lil'appartment and stuff.

Second one : i'm actually in internship at Kylotonn entertainment, finally happy that i'm doing something else than sitting in front of my computer for days.

so with all that happening, i haven't done much things. But i do have something. I started a female centaure back when i was a student at Creajeux, with Zbrush. As a friend of mine stated that it was quite good and that i should make a retopologized + texture model, i actually did it. And i like what i'm seeing. So far, i'm leaning towar the end of the texturing, base texture was done, i have to work on the alpha's more, but normal map is done too and i need to make the specular map.

On the animation side, i have started to work on the setup and tried to create/adapt some of the things i found while making my facial rigging. Of course it will be a full rigged model and facial rigged too, so it WILL be quite a lot of work till i finish it completly, but i like where i'm going so far. With all that, and work going on, i must say that i feel quite great :) so see you around, and keep checking for update, maybe i'll do some ;p

Gah, I've been really busy this month, lot of things happened like moving out ect.

With all this, I tried to work as much as i could on some stuff, and those days it's facial rig/animation. Pretty hard to do when you're basically learning from scraps, but really interesting and animating it is a lot a fun. Here is a test (too bad there's no audio on the video ) of the current model and animation. keep in mind it's just a test for me to see where my rig is lacking and to see what i can do to make it better.

Hello everyone, today's i'll share with you something a little different that usual. As a 3D animator and Rigger, i often spend a lot of time trying to create riggs and setup which will make my animation process really easy and convenient !

Today, i'll share with you something i found while i was working on Tyka. I wanted the character to be able to express some basic emotions and for that, i need for the eyes to be able to move. But the problem is, when you have a "anime/manga" type of character, eye rigging is a little sucky (since the eyes are big, you can't really make an eyeball because it's gonna go through the head, and we do not want that.

So what i thought of is : what if i could actually rigg the eye texture in order to give the illusion that it's an eyeball ?

Even though it doesn't give the real aspect of an eyeball, i found the result somewhat convincing. Now, how to do it ? it is, actually, really really simple !

First of all, i had to separate the eye from the basemesh, since i want to rigg the actual texture coordinate of the eyes and if it's the whole mesh, then everything will move when i'll move my controller.

Then, you have to select your mesh and go into the explorer windows and find the "texture coordinate" node, open it and you'll have that window :

Now, we want the texture to translate upon the mesh, both in X and Y axis. when you look at it, as you're playing with UVW, there's no X nor Y axis. It's because in that case, the X will be represented by the U and the Y by the V.

Then, right click on the U and click on "set expression" to open this windows :

Once this window is open, we will add an expression on the U parameter of the texture in which he will obey to the X translation of the eye controller. It's important to name your elements so you don't make mistake and set the expression to another controller of your setup.

the expression goes as follow :

ctr_eyes.kine.local.posx / 4

ctr_eyes it the name of my controller, and i divided by 4 because i find the normal parameter to be to quick when you translate on X. this way, it will be 4 times slower and easier to manipulate.

Now we'll open the V parameter and set an expression which is, you'd have guessed by now :

ctr_eyes.kine.local.posy / 4 validate it, and then apply it.

And here we are ! done, the texture is actually rigged to you eye controller !

You have to be careful that your U and V parameter are set to 0 and that your controller position is set to 0 too, otherwise the texture will move as soon as the expression is set.

One more thing ! When you will move the controller, you will see some kind of "lag", the eyes will only move when you' ll have finished moving the controller. But don't worry, when you keyframe a position and then move it, and keyframe another, the translation of the eyes will be smooth and good !

I might post some other rigging tips as time goes by, depends if it's helpful for people or not. I'm actually working on some facial rigging and i think i found some interesting stuff ! Next time, maybe i'll show you how i've done to rigg Tyka eyelids so as when you pull it down, the lower eyelid goes up a little !

Skinning was a little tight because of the dress but i'm happy on how the overall turned out. I called the feather she has her "emotion driver" as it react with her emotions (bending when she's sad, ect). Anyway, enjoy !

Yeah, i know i was supposed to post way more often but as with all galleries I always end up doing something else and forgetting to post. Anyway, my tests week is passed, i had a nice little yakari indian character to model, texture, rig, animate and normal map. To be honest, that was quite a blast and i had tons of idea about how i'd rig her. I'll eventually end up posting some stuff about her in the near future.

For now, here is a chocobo, yeah the chicken from the final fantasy saga. Modelling and basic texturing isnt from me, i'm just animating it. You'll see more of him in the future. For now, enjoy. (and yeah, all the feather's animation is done by me too)

Hello there !

here's the first set from the weasel serie. I currently am the lead animator for this project and we have a very close deadline and still have a lot of animation to did. Here is a combo with one of the 4 playable character. the game is set up in 60 fps and as it is supposed to be a "fast paced hack n' slash", it had to be somewhat fast in order to be spammable. She originally had a bow in her hand but it is separated from the char. file due to how we programmed objet in the game.

Hello there, it's been quite some time (one year, actually...) lot of things were done and lot of work to do, but i keep the spirit up. Starting today i'll try posting more animation (not like i don't have any, it's more that i'm lazy to render'em and put'em online).

Even though the first half of my year was focused on texturing various model, i started again animating for the sake of some projet i'm working on (one major project, ecolaw, where we're almost 40 working on it, and another called Weasel, where we're only 7) and i find some time to work on some other animations too, here i took a character called seiko that was lend by my animation teacher, and tried some acrobatic/wushu style movements. hope ya like it !

It's been a time. Took some vacations to Lyon (in France) was beyond greatness. Didn't draw THAT much but i still got some things to show you, here it is. Actual state : Latest infos showed him to be half-possessed. Unknown reasons

Appearance : First time he was recognize as Target N° 077X, he had long dark air, turquoise blue eyes wearing bloodlike colored shirt and jean. But as he discovered being chased, he often change looks. Actually wearing dark clothes, mid-long white hair, sometimes eye-patch. He now have a scar on his right eye. Reasons are still unknown.
Likes fireproof clothes.

Interest : Philosophy, reading, music, Scythe?

Origins : He seems to not come from earth, as we are chasing him for over 6 years now. Very little is known about his homeworld, but what we gathered shows that he’s trying to get back there. Nothing is known about the world, exept it’s name : « Shar’ash »

Personality : That may be one of the strangest aspect of him. Yet he looks like joyful, acting most of the time pretty stupidly, recent intelligence gathered show that he may have broke the bound between good and evil. Having a totally unique sens of seeing the world, everyone must be very careful as his mood can change in a minute. What may be known is that « mood » have no senses for him, as his act have no good nor evil in them, just being as a part of life. Potentially very dangerous behavior. Reasons of this philosophical achievement : Unknown.
There seems to have one person potentially able to share what he sees : Scythe.

Abilities : Seemingly powerless, recent actions uncovered the myst about it. Not using magic nor weapons except his fist, he possesses an Extremely high speed. To what extend can he goes is not know, but rumors says he could bend reality itself, using high-end speed and rotation process seen in stars creation/death Aka blackhole, supernova. More, rumors says he could have some control over the 4th dimension, know as space and time. If these were to be true, he could be considered as one of the deadliest persons alive. Intelligences about it are still being gathered.
He’s a good hand to hand fighter and he develloped his own art, based on his speed and body.
Further informations showed he could talk with spirits/fearies.

Story : (As Eohl is the hero of my story –ground zero- some parts are still shadey)

He never covered anything of his past, and he even told it to the Primary Circle when he penetrated the Fortress.

Coming from a world known as « Shar’ash » described as a world living in the skies, surrounded by the Sea of Cloud, he was a simple man until the day he was picken up to uncover the truth about a mythical curse named « ground zero ». His travels brought him all around the world, meeting a whole lot of people. We think his philosophical advance could be due to these travels. Then, he puts the quest aside and lived some years as a sky pirate and met one of his most deadly enemies (which seems to be a good relation now, probably more) : Scythe.

Several year passed as he had to go on the journey again, but he knew something changed in him. While travelling with the 7 heroes that were the heir of the greatest heroes known to their world, he says he had bring chaos in them.
He even told us he reverted his mind, putting alongside him 3 of the heroes to the bad side, the result of this was a great confrontation with his « friends ». seeing hima live proves he killed them. As far as he told us, he has discovered many secrets that lies beyond the creation of the world, and the fact that he is actually on earth give him all reasons.
Very little is know about what happened to the usual goal. As their journey goes up and that he found himself being darker and darker (going to even killed his friends and relations) he could have choosed any possibilities considering the future of his world. Reasons for going back there may be to repair his mistakes?
We know he found himself to be the direct son of the first Weaver, which was the one who usually put up the curse ! But as these events are separed by a timelaps of 700 years, there a myst about how he can be the direct son.
He told us he’s been transported to earth though he doesn’t know the reasons, the possibilities of him lying are high. He seeks for rare artifacts and magical objects, which led him to the Forteress year ago. He succeeded in stealing a extremely rare statue of the First known God.
He’s know still wandering around the world and is a well known pirate as a respected bounty hunter. Thoses occupation leads to the conclusions that artifacts may not be only items but living creatures as well ? The high possibilites of this puts up more misteries around this man.

Particularities/nots : His muscles and body seems to be able to handle greater acceleractions, masses, and fire. This must be due to the fact that his unusual speed and air-friction lead him to creat a self defense again fire.
Seems to be afraid of love, which remind him to much of what happened on his world.
Protect Scythe at all cost, reasons unknown.
Had his eye have been ripped off by a being known as « satou » he’s been possessed by what is know as the « spirit of blood ».
Thus, the spirit has been calmed by the one named Zip, then been partially sealed up in Eohl’s scar. Still the seal is quite weak and the spirit might show up. Wearing eyepatch when the seal is weak.

Hi everyone, finally another update!!
So here we go with 2 new rough ( and sorry, nothing colored yet ) but i found myself drawing very detailled things again, and it has been a time since i haven't done anything like this. Plus i drew some weapons ( 2 staves today ^^ )
First is a Angel, i kept think of a "keeper of the Curse" while drawing it, so hmmm, it's a cursed being. I like his staff much.

The second is a Magician girl with a nice staff, but her dress was kind of a hell to draw, simply because i had no ideas of what drawing on it..

Hey !!! It's been a time since i haven't put anything here, plus i promised i'll make some good updates. Let's begin :
The first is a portrait of Eohl, my Ground Zero's principal hero, although the draw is nice and well cleaned, i think that his head is like "already-too-much-seen" *sigh* i think i'll be able to find him an original face, i'm sure i'm getting pretty close.

Then come a little work i made today, a girl riding some kind of prehistoric beast, not much about it, exept there are some mistake i could've avoid *sigh again* but i'm quite happy of the resulat, i hope you'll like it.

The third is a work i find suprising, because i wasn't attempting any success from a first try of "Android". It's a lot messy though...

And for the end the 2nd character of Ground Zero, here come the Priestress Tear ! i don't like her face that much, that's why it's only the first version, but i was really pleased when it came to draw every little details on her dress, even if i wanted something more complicated.

Its been quite a long time since i haven't made any character design, so here a little one, which will probably be the hero of my comic/novel, but in his "dark" version. Why a dark side you'll ask? well it's part of the story, so if it's pulished one day you'll know why ^^

Here's finally a little update, nothing much to say, i've been drawing rough and rough for weeks, so i decided to make a "complete" ( understand : not-a-complete-mess ) picture. This may be weird but the "deployed" version make me think of a fish ^^', by the way it show how much we can imagine from what nature gave us. I hope you like it !

Went on vacation to Bordeaux this summer, while the heat was growing, i got a nice idea, héhé, its getting a little oldie and it's my very first perspective, by the way i like the tattoo ( some people told me : ewww , what's this ) aniway, i thought of him becoming one of my futur comic's hero.
